The place
A working carrier’s warehouse, described exactly as far as we can back.
This is not a self-storage aisle with roll-up doors. It’s the building our interstate operation runs through: a dock where shipments are inventoried, sealed into 7×5 ft-ft wood vaults, tagged against your manifest, and stacked until delivery day.
Each vault holds about 245 cubic feet of household, so a typical 2-bedroom home fills 3 of them. Your goods don’t mingle with anyone else’s: a vault is sealed with your shipment inside it and opens against your paperwork, not a master key. The tag on the seal matches the line on the manifest you’ve held since pickup. That chain of inventory, seal, tag and manifest is the whole security argument we’re prepared to put in writing.

Past the window, or with no move attached, you’re renting vault space by the month. The band covers vault rent only; warehouse handling in and out is priced separately by the facility, and the terms convert to storage’s own paperwork. Ask for that conversion in writing before day 90 arrives, not after.
Monthly figures are a market-calibrated South Florida planning band of $0.97 to $1.80 per square foot of vault floor per month, not our storage tariff.

Can I visit my things while they're in storage?
Treat the answer as no for everyday access. Your shipment is sealed into wood vaults inside a working warehouse. There's no aisle, no keypad, no unit door with your name on it. Getting something out mid-storage means locating and unsealing a vault against the manifest, which is real warehouse work, not a quick stop.
If you know you'll need regular access to what's stored, say so before anything is sealed. A self-storage unit you can walk into genuinely serves that need better, and a dispatcher will tell you the same on the phone.
Is my shipment protected while it's stored?
Inside the storage-in-transit window, yes, by the same valuation choice you made for the move. The shipment is still moving under one set of paperwork, so the coverage level you picked before loading, and the same claims process, ride with it into the warehouse.
Past that window, storage becomes its own arrangement with its own terms. Get those terms in writing before the conversion happens, not after. That handoff is exactly the kind of seam where paperwork gaps live.
What can't go into a storage vault?
The standard household-goods exclusions: anything hazardous (propane, paint, aerosols, ammunition), anything perishable, and live plants. Beyond the rules, a practical list: don't seal away passports, medication, chargers, or anything you'll want in the next month. A vault is not a place you pop into; pack a keep-with-me box before the crew arrives.
Do I have to decide on storage before moving day?
No, but deciding early is cheaper in surprises. Named on the video survey, storage lands on the written estimate before anything is loaded, priced in daylight. If your closing slips mid-move instead, call dispatch: storage in transit exists precisely for that, and the shipment diverts to the warehouse on the same manifest. The difference isn't whether we can do it. It's whether you saw the number first.
