Storage in transit is the moving industry’s answer to dates that don’t line up: your household comes off the truck into sealed vaults, stays on the same manifest as your move, and delivers when the new door is actually yours. Not a self-storage unit, not a second company: a held pause inside one move.

The mechanism
One move, with a warehouse in the middle of it.
The alternative is the mess people improvise: rent a unit, hire day labor twice, carry everything four extra times, hold two contracts. Storage in transit collapses that into the move you already booked: same crew standard, same inventory manifest, same written estimate.
Sealed into vaults
At our Fort Lauderdale-area warehouse, the shipment goes into 7×5 wood vaults, sealed and tagged and matched to your manifest until delivery day.
Delivered when the door is ready
When your dates resolve, the vaults open, the same manifest rides to the new address, and you check items off the list you’ve had since pickup.
The number

A storage vault is a 7×5-ft wood crate: 35 square feet of floor, about 245 cubic feet of household. Monthly storage is that unit, times how many your home fills.
$35 to $65 · per vault, per month
A typical 2-bedroom household fills about 3 vaults, so call it $100 to $190 a month in the current South Florida market band. Here’s the whole ladder:

Monthly figures are a market-calibrated South Florida planning band of $0.97 to $1.80 per square foot of vault floor, not our storage tariff. Vault handling in and out is confirmed on the video survey; it is not inside the monthly number.
This is a planning range, not an estimate. Your exact price is put in writing after a video or in-home survey, as federal law requires. That written estimate is either binding or non-binding.

Vault storage without a move attached is possible, priced as vault rent plus warehouse handling in and out, priced separately by the facility. Honestly: if there’s no move in the picture, a self-storage unit you can walk into may serve you better.

Vaults are sealed in a working warehouse, not aisles with a keypad. If you need to get at your things every weekend, rent a self-storage unit. A dispatcher will tell you the same on the phone, before you spend a dollar here.

Can you store my things if my new place isn't ready?
Yes. That's exactly what storage in transit is for. Your shipment comes off the truck into sealed wood vaults at our Fort Lauderdale-area warehouse, stays on the same inventory manifest as your move, and delivers when your door is ready. One carrier, one paper trail, no rented unit in the middle.
Is the warehouse climate-controlled or secure?
Here's the honest answer: we only print what we can evidence, so this page says "our Fort Lauderdale-area warehouse" and stops there. No guard-service claims, no climate promises we haven't documented.
If a specific feature matters to your shipment, climate for instruments say, ask on the survey call and get the answer for your move in writing. An answer that survives being written down is the only kind worth having, from us or anyone.
How long can you store my stuff?
Storage in transit is a defined interstate arrangement, and the industry-standard window runs 30 to 90 days while your move is still a move. Past that, storage converts to a longer-term arrangement with its own terms. If you already know the gap will run months, say so on the survey call and the paperwork is set up that way from the start.
Does storage change the price of the move?
It adds to it, in daylight: a monthly vault figure, with the planning band running $35 to $65 per vault per month in the South Florida market, plus vault handling in and out, which is confirmed on the survey, not inside the monthly number. Both land on the written estimate before we load, like every other charge here.
